Our Work

We work with a wide range of clients from professional photographers and artists to schools and charities. Whether we are working with you on a one-off project or as your design and printing partner, our in-house designers and print technicians go the extra mile to ensure your projects are delivered to the highest standards.

Our studio brings together experts from every corner of the creative world, allowing us to provide our clients with exactly what they need, when they need it. Whether we are working with artists on fine art scanning and reproductions to capture the best possible prints and ensure commercial viability or working closely with schools to bring shared spaces to life – we can take creative lead and enjoy working collaboratively to make your ideas a reality.

Sustainability

Our respect and care for the environment goes far beyond just printing and design. Every aspect of our business is considered; from the inks and papers we choose right down to how we deliver your finished goods. The materials we use to produce your orders have been carefully selected to reduce our impact on the environment, whilst still delivering the highest quality products and ensuring your orders get to you in perfect condition.

We are part of the Woodland Trust and are committed to operating responsibly and mindfully towards the environment. From the materials we use to the process itself, we do everything we can to minimise our impact on the planet. Since joining the Carbon Capture scheme in 2016, we have captured more than 12,000 tonnes of CO₂ and created around 288sq metres of new native woodland, simply through buying our printing paper from Premier Paper.

FAQ

Environmental Policy
We are committed to being as environmentally conscious and ethical as possible. We know that this is important to many of our customers and therefore, it is important to us.

FSC certification: We only use FSC paper and board. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification guarantees that customers are receiving environmentally friendly and economically viable forest products such as paper and wood. FSC was founded in 1993 in response to concerns about deforestation.

Carbon Capture Scheme: Our customers can also be assured that their carbon footprint will be minimal. We are signed up to the Woodland Carbon scheme with The Woodland Trust. Our paper suppliers offer customers and their clients the opportunity to capture the CO2 emissions from their paper purchase by planting native woodland right here in the UK.
Do you provide same-day printing?
We do on some products, but it depends. However, we offer a quick turnaround on everything, thanks to our hardworking in-house team.
Do you print plans?
Yes. We have been a specialist architectural printer for over 25 years. We can print plans from various file types using our large-format scanners and printers. Delivery is also available upon request.
Do you print photographs?
Yes. We print photographs from 10 x 8 inches upwards; perfect for photographers. We only use light-fast ink and high quality photo paper, ensuring the best quality finish for your images.
Do you offer installation for signage and wallpaper?
Yes. A member of our skilled and friendly team will make sure you receive a smooth, high-quality installation process.
What is a PDF and how can I create one?
A PDF is the industry standard method of sharing documents. It’s the best way to share your ideas and be sure that they won’t be altered.

Word processing programs such as Microsoft Word and Pages have an option to export or save your file as a PDF. This will usually come up when saving or printing your documents or, alternatively, in the “file” tab of your program. There are also online sites where you can create your PDF for free.

If you need to make any changes, make them in the original document before creating a new PDF.
Why should fonts be changed to outlines before printing?
This prevents issues when we open the PDF file in our own work environment. We may not have the same font in our system, so this makes sure your designs are not spoiled by the wrong font.
What kinds of photographs or graphic images can I use in my designs?
First and foremost, all images need to be Copyright free. We recommend only using images that are 300 DPI or higher to avoid any issues with quality when printed.
How do you charge for design work?
We charge by the hour at a minimum of 15 minutes. However, fixed costs for larger projects can be organised.
Are you better value than online?
We strive to give good value for money but we’re not always cheaper than online services. However, we guarantee a personal service from an approachable and helpful team. Each team member has their own strengths and expertise, but we promise exceptional customer service and attention to detail from every one of them. When it comes to printing, online companies will always print whatever files are sent to them, whereas at thatcopyshop we always check artwork prior to printing and will alert the client or correct any errors ourselves.
Do you offer special rates?
We work on reduced rates for schools, NHS organisations and the services.

A loyalty discount is also enjoyed by our regular and longest serving clients.

That Copy Shop also works closely with several local charities including Changing Lives, The JHF, Be More Ben and support our local parkrun.
